William Seaver is a
50-year resident of
Oxnard
and Camarillo.
He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the
University
of California,
Davis
in Agriculture Education and Education, respectively. In addition, Mr. Seaver
has received a variety of advanced level teaching and administrative
credentials from various universities including the
University
of California,
Los Angeles,
California
State University, Northridge, and
California
Lutheran
University.
A career educator, Mr. Seaver served both the
Oxnard
Union
High
School and
Conejo
Valley
Unified
School
Districts as an instructor of
Vocational Agriculture, high school counselor, high school principal,
Associate Superintendent, and Superintendent (CVUSD).
Mr. Seaver also served on active duty during the Korean war,
1953-55, as a First Lieutenant in the
U.S.
Army. He retired as a Colonel in the Corps of Engineers,
U.S.
Army Reserve in 1982 after serving as Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander, and
Commander of Major Army Reserve Commands. He was awarded the Legion of Merit,
Meritorious Service (twice) and Commendation Medals for his service in
command and staff assignments.
Mr. Seaver was appointed Division 5 representative to the Calleguas Municipal Water District Board of Directors in
1993. He was subsequently elected to a full four-year term in 1994 and
reelected in 1998, 2002 and 2006. He currently represents the District on the Western
Coalition of Arid States, the Ventura County Association of Water Agencies
Water Issues Committee, the Steering Committee, Flood Protection/Sedimentation
subcommittee, Habitat and Recreation subcommittee, Land Use
subcommittee, Agriculture subcommittee, Public Outreach/Education subcommittee and Water Resources/Water Quality subcommittee of the Calleguas Creek Watershed Management Plan Committee as
well as numerous Association of California Water Agencies committees including
the Energy Committee, Water Recycling Committee, Generation subcommittee
and the Water Management Committee.
